Nan S. Diffenderfer, age 80, Miami, Florida died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 ,in Reston, VA.

Nan was a loving mother who loved to entertain and cook and was deeply devoted to her husband and children. As a young family, the Diffenderfers did a lot of camping including at the race track where her husband Doug was SCCA National Champion in 1960. After moving to Miami in 1970, Nan and Doug became avid boaters and spent many years cruising the Bahamas and Biscayne Bay on their boat the Goose Baby and were members of the Dinner Key Cruising Club where she made many life long memories with friends and family. She was a volunteer for the Women’s Cancer Association; worked at the University of Miami for the baseball coach, and was very involved with the booster club and taking new recruits out on the boat.
Nan was kind and generous to all who knew her and had a heart of gold. She was always ready for a party, especially when it came to preparing food for the whole gang.

Nan had many talents such as writing, cooking, sewing, and had a deep love for animals. She also loved nature and always found the beauty in the smallest flower. She loved all sports: especially baseball.
