A TIME TO BE BORN

It all began on the 7th of September 1939.A special baby girl was born in Akregwareh Quarters in Aladja.

Mary was the second child to the family of SIEMUEVWRHE KOKO and DEIDAI NORHIEN.

Mary’s grand-mother was ORUVWEVWREMA and her grand-father was OGODO.





A TIME TO SERVE

In 1954, Mary was spotted by a young handsome soldier.

This man was Rays Matthew Dumuje.

He hailed from the nearby Ekiagbon Quarters also in Aladja.

It did not take him long to ask for her hand in marriage.

Mrs Mary Dumuje was a loving, caring and loyal wife and mother. Mary was married to the late Maj-Gen R. M. Dumuje (rtd.). Mary in the early years travelled everywhere her husband was stationed in his military career. First port of call was to Abeokuta, then Kaduna, Nigeria. It was in 1964 that Mary and Rays left Kaduna for Lagos. At this time they had four children. This became the family home.

Mrs Mary Dumuje played a vital role in first the Air-force Officer’s Wives Association, and then the Army Officer’s Wives Association.

Mrs Mary Dumuje was a keen netball, soccer, and table tennis player.

Mary attended Word Assembly Church, Victoria Island, Lagos, and was a member of WOVEX (Women of Virtue & Excellence). She participated actively in church activities.

Mary Dumuje became a resident of the United States in October 2008. She attended the Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) Church, VA.



FAMILY

Mrs Mary Dumuje lost her mother when she was a young girl in 1951. Her father died in September 1976.

Mrs Mary Dumuje is survived by 11 children, and twenty-two grand-children.



Tribute to a Great Mother



Mummy, We still cannot believe you have left us. The love, care and values you brought us up on, is what has made us such a close-knit unit. You were central to all the goings-on in the Dumuje household. Your special blend of doing things has left a permanent mark on each and everyone of us. You live on in everyone of us all. Only the Good die young. May you rest in Perfect Peace in the presence & care of your father in Heaven.
