Roeli,
I am saddened by the news of your mother's passing but am grateful for your parents' foresight and steadfast perseverance seeing Warm Hearth Village to fruition.
My 93-year-old father, Curtis W. Roane, lives at 19 Dogwood Circle at WHV where he has many friends, old and new. He makes use of Warm Hearth at Home home healthcare and lifestyle services which enables his semi-independent living.
I am thankful for having known your folks, Wybe and Marietje, and for their contribution to Blacksburg.

I read the notice of your Mom's passing when I returned from a trip over the weekend. Jody and I pass on our condolences. You know that we cared for and respected both of your parents so much and we are sad to see that this great era is now passed.

I will be at the service on Saturday. You are welcome to stop by the "old house" if you need a break coming or going on Saturday.

I am sorry to hear of Marietje Kroontje's death. I remember Wybe Kroontje as one of my Agronomy professors at Virginia Tech. He was an excellent teacher and he told some great stories. — Janet Harold

Dear Roeli,

I'm am sending my condolences on the death of your mother. I remember her as being calm and cheerful. Your parents lived close to us on Allendale; we live on Gracelyn Court (the house that belonged to the Murrays, whom you may have known).

I appreciate your parents' dedication to establishing Warm Hearth and the sentiment behind it, as expressed in the obituary. My parents live in Warm Hearth now. My father was in the Navy in WWII, stationed at the Naval Research Lab.

I will not be in town next weekend, so I regret having to miss the memorial service. Know that many people have fond memories of both of your parents, and even more did not know them but benefit from the works of their lives.
