It broke our hearts to hear of George's passing. He was the kindest most optimistic person even with his health challenges. His laugh and smile were truly infectious. One memory that sticks in our mind was the Christmas tree. We lived directly across from the Velez family. One day before Christmas we looked out the window and saw the Velez car with an enormous tree on the roof. It hung over the windshield and the sides of the car. Late the next day, the tree was still on the car. We happened to see George outside looking at the tree so we decided to see if he needed help with it. He said Karen had told him she wanted a big tree, but not that BIG! He was waiting to see if it was going to be allowed in the house. We watched it for another day. It eventually made it in, with a bit of trimming! We were blessed to be neighbors but even more blessed to be friends. Sending our hugs to the family, especially Karen and Becky.
