Hannah Bridget Bohince

Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed peacefully on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, surrounded by family at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, at the age of 88. She was born February 1, 1937 to Leslie Hartman and Pauline Fahey in Cumberland, MD. She attended Penn Joint High School in Claridge, PA, Seaton Hill College in Greensburg, PA and graduated from Business Training College in Pittsburg, PA. She married William “Bill” Bohince on November 28, 1957 and initially settled in Jeanette, PA. They moved around through VA in the following years, but found their final place of residency in Leesburg, VA where they lived for 61 years. Together, they raised their four children and became pillars of the community. She was incredibly proud of her employment with The United States Secret Service where she was employed for 26 years. She was a Personnel Security Specialist responsible for security investigations of the White House Press Corp. She worked under six different presidencies, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, retiring in 2002. Bridget was one for high propriety and flare. She had a love for color and was often seen in one of a variety of pink suits with a flower broach. She was feisty and high-spirited, never missing an opportunity to speak the truth or tell you exactly how she felt – always to be followed with a glare as if to say “the truth hurts” – so as never to be thought of as rude or inappropriate. She loved to shop with her daughters and granddaughters, forever knowing the importance of a good shoe guy. She religiously visited Abdul at the Nordstrom shoe department for any and all occasions and was a major judge on the panel for all important dresses to be purchased, including homecoming, prom and wedding dresses. She was endlessly proud of her children and grandchildren, rarely missing a graduation, birthday, or wedding. She was a modest socialite. She seemingly knew everyone, with an astonishing knack for finding that 6th degree of separation or a distant relation to a random stranger at the Giant. Even in her later years, she continued to be involved at the Senior Center of Leesburg where she enjoyed helping with distribution of the monthly newsletter, was a member of the Stitch n’ B (stitching club), knitting, playing bingo and bringing in brownies and other baked goods for people’s birthdays. She loved to bake and cook for everyone. Though baking was her favorite, especially wedding cakes. It was her life’s mission to ensure no one went hungry. When she cooked for two, she cooked for twenty and leftovers were both coveted and plentiful…except for those danged mashed potatoes. She was always changing and experimenting with the recipes so if you really liked something you’d have to savor it the first time, because you’d never have that same recipe again, but they were always good. As they say, to know her was to love her, and she will be missed by many. Bridget was preceded in death by her parents Pauline and Leslie and her beloved husband Bill. She is survived by her brother, Leslie Hartman and sister Christina Moellring, four children; Julie White, Sean Bohince (Julie), Bridget Hutchins (Wilbur) and Shannon Bohince (Shauna), her nine grandchildren Zachary, Ian, Jacob, Molly, Jordyn, Kendyl, Quinn, Ashton, and Aiden; and her seven great-grandchildren, Kenna, Wyatt, Ainsley, Wiley, Isaac, Everett, and Bo. Visitation will be held at Loudoun Funeral Chapel (158 Catoctin Cir SE, Leesburg, VA 20175) on Thursday, May 8th from 5pm to 8pm. A private funeral will be held Friday May 9th for family only.
