Hemant was my first friend I made when I landed in Pennsylvania, 29 years ago. With his jovial nature, we became best friends. Over the passage of time, our families came very close to each other. As Hemant is embarking on his heavenly abode, he is leaving us here with lots of wonderful memories. His loss is very difficult to fathom and he will be missed very much. May his soul rest in peace.
Our condolences and prayers to Savita Vahini, Amar, Sachin and Krupa.

Hema was of jolly nature and we will miss him always. We share the grief and pains of Savitavahini and Amar.
Hemantdada is my cousin brother. He was the one who taught me the basics of chess in my childhood. Being one of the youngest cousin sister, he always used to tease me, calling me 'edka' meaning 'ram'! Such sweet memories will always remain with me. I pray for his peaceful stay in another world. May god give strength to Savita vahini and Amar to bear this yet another tragic shock..
Hemant's expertise in Chess was legendary. He also use to play "Blind Chess". which involved he playing chess without looking at the Chess Board during the full game. Long back atleast 35-40 years back he had given the demo of the same in our Jai Vijay Society. He never came back to our society after that but after hearing the sad news of his demise, I told my friends here about the same and most of them remembered him. Thats the impact he had..
