Susie and I worked together at Swidler & Berlin for many years. She was a respected and good friend of mine at the law firm. I did not know that she passed away last year. A great memory remains with me of the time that I joined Susie at her daughters' restaurant in Leesburg (Lightfoot) after it first opened. Also, another time long ago when she invited me and a group of friends from the law firm to her home (located off Route 50 in Arlington). I am so very sad to learn of her passing. Susie was always one of my favorites of my Mom’s friends. She was funny, outspoken, smart, and caring. It was always a party when Susie was around. She had such a big personality and great sense of humor. Her laugh was unforgettable. I really enjoyed her company every time she visited. She gave me a beautiful handmade crocheted baby blanket for my son when he was born. One of my most cherished baby gifts. I keep it in a special quilt bag with a note, “Susie’s baby blanket.”

Susie was a fun and engaged book group member in our multigenerational group. She’d be prepared, always with 3 choices when it was her turn to host, and could she ever host a spread! We miss you terribly and speak of you at almost every monthly get together . We miss you. Hugs in heaven Susie & condolences to your family🌷

Susie as such a special person! She was independent, kind, compassionate, very giving and fun to be with. I remember one year all the “girls” did a Secret Santa, and Susie drew my mother’s name that year. The coming year was ia very special year for Mom. During the year, every holiday or special occasion arrived with a small gift to Mom from her secret Santa. She was always so happy and touched to receive those gifts, even if it was just a card. The year went by, and when our Secret Santa’s were reveled, Mom was so happy to finally be able to tell her Secret Santa how touched she was by her kindness, and how she looked forward to each holiday! Susie went out of her way to make that year so special for my mother, but that was who she was. I will always remember her smile and that laugh!

Susie was one of my dearest friends. I loved her laugh and she was always up for whatever you wanted to do. She adored her children and grandchildren and talked about them constantly. She was very proud of all they had achieved and always looked forward to seeing them. We had so many good times at our annual beach trip. Susie’s laughter could be heard over the whole house. Even though she didn’t play bridge she could always find something to do with others in the house. I loved her style in clothing and you could always pick out what was Susie’s. She loved having a glass of wine at end of day with her friends. Susie was a good listener also. She will be greatly missed and I extend sympathy to her entire family. Truly Susie was one of a kind.

I knew Susie through our annual girls' beach trips, which were always such fun. She was a sweet and fun person and will be greatly missed. Prayers and condolences for her family. I'm sorry I will miss the reception for Susie, as I am returning from a trip to Europe that day. However, I will make a donation to the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health in her memory.

Susie was one of the first people to befriend me when I started working at the law firm where she worked. We became great friends and had great fun-filled times together. She would invite us to her little soirees where we would drink wine, eat her delicious food, and laugh for hours.

Susie also brought me and my daughter to The Lightfoot where, once again, we would have a ball for hours at a time and share special occasions there.

We called her witty sayings, "Susie-isms"!!! She had a great sense of humor and a great love for her family and friends. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. They gave her so much joy and happiness and it was a pleasure to witness her dote on them.

We pray God's peace, strength, and blessing for her family during this time.
