Although I never met Laura DeAngelis, her beautiful soul captured in photos, her art, life story, and tributes touches me profoundly as there is a true goodness and exaltation she achieved in life. It is important to share with her family and friends that Laura continues to inspire. My blessings and love to all of you, and my thanks for sharing your beautiful and talented Laura.
I am deeply saddened by this news. I went to KCAI with Laura, and was blown away by her talent. I had the honor of being in a show with her at Sherry Leedy’s gallery many years ago. Her kindness and generosity radiated, and her sculptures were magical. My condolences to her family and loved ones.
I never met Laura, but I reviewed her artwork for the KC Star and the upcoming Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art catalog. Her art was singularly beautiful, both in its construction (she could obviously make clay do anything she wanted) and in its soulfulness, whether in her public art installations or her exquisite portrayals of animals. My condolences. I barely knew Laura, but I always admired her work and enjoyed the few moments I got to spend with her as she made me cafe lattes.
I took classes from Laura at Red Star in Kansas City. She was so kind, nurturing, and inspiring. We really connected she encouraged me to volunteer at RedStar and I took some creative steps forward in my life. She invited me to spend a 4th of July with her at her loft it was a magical night on her roof shooting Roman candels. Laura burned with a very pure loving light how it cast its light on me for such a short remarkable time. I am grateful to have known and laughed with her. My deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.
