Tederyl Robert Stallworth

My condolences to Tederyl Stallworths family. I know this is years way late and I feel guilty of falling out of touch with him. He remains in my heart as a true friend and good hearted man. We shared the 1/6 action figure hobby and he helped me out very early on. He took me under his wing and was very encouraging. He shared about his military career to and that won even more of my respect. I will always remember "T" for his great kindness, patience and friendship. To the family, he's somewhere better now, so I say "T" is still a man to take after. Blessings!!! Anthony "Tony" James De Ritis.

As I was going through old postcards of my travels abroad, I found one that I had written to Tederyl from Grenoble, France but never sent. When I looked him up, my heart sank when I found his obituary. He and I sat together at graduation in Marquette. He was in his R.O.T.C. uniform and oh, so handsome. I remember his kindness, quick wit and good manners. He was always a gentleman. I am sorry you lost such a good man.

As the first commander of the SOCEUR Signal Detachment you had a tough job and not a lot of support. I wish you could have made it to the 2010 reunion at Fort Bragg. I will remember you as a caring commander who was concerned about his Soldiers and their mission. Rest in Peace Sir! Never Fail!

I just though of my old friend T and decided to google him. We were RA's together at Northern Michigan University. We spent many hours together and lived and worked in the same dorm. A wonderful and inspirational man that I have never forgotten and am ashamed that I did not reach out to earlier. He just taught me another important life lesson. We made contact approximately 20 years ago and promised to keep in touch but life got in the way, and now death has gotten in the way. Love you T, never to be forgotten.

T - you once told me having babies was a young woman's sport and you were so right. In the craziness of raising four of them at "advanced maternal age" I lost you...all those calls we ended with us saying "yeah - let's get together soon - bring Tom and the kids over and we'll cookout!" and another year would pass by... I'm sorry my friend that I wasn't listening closely enough. How can I ever thank you for the gift of your friendship? You never, ever let me forget who I was. You were my rock. You totally accepted Tom into the circle of our friendship, you stood up for us at our wedding, you stood up for our children when we baptized them, you never wavered. I'm so sorry that I didn't know how dark the world had become for you. Knowing you, you were probably protecting me even then. I pray that you have found light and peace. When I see you next we'll both know for sure if angels wear shoes or not...I love you Tederyl. Thank you for being my friend.

Really heartwrenching to have heard the terrible news of your passing! Wish it wasn't so but will keep you in my heart until the end.
