William George Bohince Jr

William G. Bohince, “Bill” beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on his birthday April 6, 2015, at the age of 78. He was born in Irwin, PA., on April 6, 1937 to William G. and Mary Krizay Bohince. Bill graduated from Penn Joint High School in Claridge, PA in 1955 and attended St. Vincent’s Men’s College in Latrobe, PA. Bill was an avid gardener, spending many hours outside working in his vegetable garden, and tending to his flowers and trees. He also loved designing and building Koi ponds. Bill moved with his wife and young family, from Jeanette, PA to Alexandria, VA, in 1959 and later moved to Leesburg, where he was employed by DECO. He loved the area of Leesburg and remained there for 51 years. Bill was a major contributor in establishing the foundation of Central Loudoun Little League (CLLL) during the late 1960’s through early 1990’s. He was a team manager and coach for five years and later held the office of President for an additional five years. Bill was involved in the development and construction of nine of Loudoun County’s baseball fields to include: the Second Paxton Field at Paxton Home (1970), Buchanan and Jones Fields at Paxton Home (1978), Bohince and Barrett Fields (1984), Founders Field (1985), and the Murphy Building (1986) all located at Good Times Park in Leesburg. Bill assisted in the construction of Aldie Field in Aldie, Virginia, in addition he assisted in the construction of the “Place to Play” Field at Loudoun County High School which included the concession stand and proving the flag pole. Bill also assisted in the initial construction of Robinson Field located on Plaza Street in Leesburg. In honor of his contributions and dedication to the league, Bill was inducted into the Central Loudoun Little League’s Hall of Fame in 2014. Bill is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Hannah “Bridget” Bohince , to whom he was married for almost 60 years. He is also survived by his children Julie White of Leesburg, Va.; Sean Bohince (Julie) of Hood River, OR; Bridget Hutchins (Wilbur) of Jefferson, MD; and Shannon Bohince of Frederick, MD. He had 9 loving grandchildren: Zachary, Ian and Jacob Bohince, Molly White, Jordyn, Kendyl and Quinn Hutchins, Meghan White, and Aiden Bohince. Also surviving are his brother Merle Bohince (Sandra) of Trafford, PA; and sister Kathleen Hufton (Jerry) of Northfield, IL., as well as sister-in-law Christine Moellring (Ronald), brother-in-law Leslie Hartman and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family received guests from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA 20175. A funeral mass began on Friday morning, April 10, 2015 at 10 am, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 55 Oak Crest Manor Drive, Leesburg, VA 20176. Interment followed in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Loudoun County Volunteer Rescue Squad, Inc., P.O. Box 1178, Leesburg, VA 20177-1178.
