Bernard Joseph Denisar

June 4, 1934 - September 12, 2021

Bernard Joseph Denisar, 87, of Weyers Cave, Virginia passed away on September 12, 2021 at Heritage Hall of Leesburg. He was born on June 4, 1934 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, of the late Harry and Marie Eckley Denisar. He was the loving husband of Charlotte Stout Denisar. Bernard (Bernie/Denny) was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte. He is survived by his three daughters, Kim Thompson and her husband, Kevin of CA, Nadine Armstrong, Kate Geier and her husband David all of VA; his three sons, David and his wife Cheryl, Mark and his wife Sherian and Bernard Jr (Chip) all of VA; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Denisar. Bernard’s career in the printing ink industry was highlighted by the building of the Capital Printing Ink Manufacturing Facility in Weyers Cave, Virginia and as an innovator in the development of soy-based printing inks. After retiring, he and Charlotte enjoyed traveling between their home in VA, a summer residence in Bath, PA and a winter residence in Brooksville, FL. When in Florida, Bernie particularly enjoyed watching the Manatee’s at Weeki WacheeSprings Park and then stopping on the way home for Fish Ruebens at BeckyJack’s Food Shack. This became a beloved tradition whenever visiting family and friends came to Brooksville. No memorial service or funeral is planned. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Bernard’s memory to Save the Manatee Club in Maitland, FL (SaveTheManatee.org).
