Dolores Pender

Dolores Day Pender, 88 of Leesburg, Virginia passed on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at her home in Leesburg. Born April 20, 1934, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, she was the eldest daughter of Joseph Francis Ryan and Alyce Virginia (Day) Ryan. Preceded in death by her brothers Edward, Michael and Joseph; she is survived by siblings Mary, Alice Constance, Kathleen and James. After graduation in 1952, Dolores left home in Springfield, Ohio and headed to Washington D.C.: first for a job with American Airlines, and then a thirty-year-long career with the Marriott Corporation. Never one to remain still, she worked well into her retirement years as a salesperson with Eddie Bauer. She is survived by her sons, David Pender (Lee Ann), Joseph Pender (Lili) and Brian Pender (Yvonne); daughters, Maureen Guzi (Chris), Molly Stiles (Eric) and Mary Alyce Pender; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, Virginia. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00PM. Friends and family are invited to join together for a reception after the eservice at the home of Maureen and Chris Guzi.
