George Baker Taylor
August 5, 1930 - December 20, 2020
George was born in Bristol, Virginia and is the last survivor in a family of 5 boys and 2 girls. He was the beloved husband of Maureen Taylor for 66 years and daughter Denise Taylor, and nieces Donna Ahearn and Deborah Holland. He is survived by many other nephews and nieces. George was an Air Force veteran and served during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the following medals: Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. After discharge George went back to school under the G.I. Bill. His entire computer career was in support of military communications. H worked on installing the first computers for the the following: Atlantic and Pacific Fleets; Pentagon Joint Chiefs of Staff; and the White House. He loved to travel and his job took him to England, Holland, Germany, Italy, Guam, four years in Hawaii and numerous other States. He was an avid reader and loved to watch any sports events especially the Washington Redskins. He had a unique sense of humor and was generous to a fault. His sunny smile, love and companionship, will be sorely missed by his family and friends. George will be buried in Arlington Cemetery later this year which is a fitting place for a true patriot.
