Laura Duffy Rinier

December 10, 1967 - July 12, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Laura Duffy Rinier announces her passing on July 12, 2018, after a brave battle with appendix cancer. A lifelong Red Sox fan, Laura was born on December 10, 1967 in Brockton, MA, and resided in Franklin, MA until 1991. In 1992 she met her husband Jim in Washington, DC. She had a Masters in Education and taught elementary school in MD until shortly before the birth of her second child. At this time she chose to devote herself to raising her children. She was an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She touched many lives and will be remembered fondly by all those who knew her. Laura was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Anna Duffy, of Largo, FL. She is survived by her husband Jim Rinier and children Patrick, Erin and Brendan, of Leesburg, VA, her brother Alan (Ellie) Duffy of Pulaski, TN, her sister Jeanette (Joseph) Ustaszewski of St. Petersburg, FL and many loving nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many loving friends whom she considered family. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 7 to 9 pm at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 18 at 1:00 PM at St. Johns the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. John’s Church Cemetery, Leesburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ACPMP Research Foundation (https://acpmp.org), Catholic Charities (www.ccdosp.org) or to your favorite charity.
