Marjorie R. Morgan
June 21, 1928 - March 24, 2022
Marjorie (Marg) R. Morgan, age 93, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2022. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth Slugg, Marg was a graduate of West Scranton High School, Pre-Nursing School at Keystone Junior College and West Side Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Elizabeth General Hospital and in a private practice in New Jersey for many years. Marg was a longtime resident of Bridgewater, New Jersey before moving to Virginia in 2002. Over the years, she was active in her churches as a member of both singing and hand bell choirs and in leadership positions such as Elder. Marg also enjoyed volunteering at school as both a parent and grandparent. Marg loved to spend time with her family, travel, volunteer, play the piano and organ and keep in touch with her family and friends. You could always count on her to remember a birthday or anniversary. You could always count on her to bake treats, especially Welsh cookies for family reunions and snickerdoodles for her daughter's college swim team. You could always count on her to volunteer and help out wherever needed. Basically, you could always count on Marg. She was devoted to her family and friends. Her kind heart and generous, welcoming spirit will be missed by many. Marg is survived by her daughter, Glynnis Morgan Dwelly (Bill) and her beloved grandson, Kevin, of Leesburg, Virginia. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, nieces and nephew, cousins and extended family members. In addition to her parents and brother, Arthur Slugg, Jr., Marg was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Evan, in 1998. In keeping with Marg's wishes, no formal service will be held at this time. Memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie's name to Alzheimer's Association online at www.alz.org or to the charity of your choice.
