Robert James “Scotty” Cameron, Col., USAF, Retired, 94 of Ashburn, Virginia went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, August 20, 2018. Born in Wilmot, SD on August 2, 1924. A son of the late, Colin James and Thelma VanCleve Cameron of Wilmot SD. He was the husband of the late Lois Pressler Cameron, (Camelia Brantley Cameron, and Leona Huffacker Cameron). And the late daughter Mary Kathryn “Kitty” Burnett Sims. A graduate of University of MD, in 1942, and receiving his MA from George Washington University in 1962. Col. Cameron served his country in the United States Air Force for 34 years, from 1943, commissioned in 1945, via the Aviation Cadet program, as an active Pilot until 1960; retiring in 1977. Scotty leaves his family to cherish his memory including his sons, Colin “Collie” J. & wife Kristi C. Cameron of Ashburn, VA; Charles "Chas" & wife Denise Cameron of Colorado Springs, CO; Clifford “Cliff” & wife Gayle Burnett of Richmond, VA; daughter, Elisa Burnett of Cora Wyoming; and 6 grandchildren - Andrew J. Cameron, Christopher S. Cameron, Brian Reusche, Kathryn C. “Kate” Sims, Allison M. “Allie” Sims, and Jane C. Burnett. On Sunday September 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM we will celebrate Scotty’s life and resurrection at the Ashburn Presbyterian Church 20962 Ashburn Rd, Ashburn, VA 20147. Reception to follow. Graveside services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors on January 28, 2019 at 11 am. Those who wish to attend should arrive at the administration building by 10:30am.
