Robert "Rex" Robinson

May 15, 1936 - September 15, 2018

Robert "Rex" Robinson of Clifton, Virginia passed to his eternal rest on September 15th, 2018 aged 82. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin May 15, 1936, Rex is survived by his lifetime best friend and beloved wife, Ann B. Robinson; sons James "Jay", Rex T. and Paul (departed), their spouses Karyn and Julie; grandchildren Emily, Drew and Marley; brother-in-law, David Barham, elder brother Arthur "Selly" Robinson, wife Shirley and his three children, Susie Osgood, Barb Wiley and Bruce Robinson and their spouses. Rex will be memorialized at 11:00 AM on October 27th, 2018 at the Church of the Ascension 13941 Braddock Road Centreville, VA 20120 and later interred in Arlington National Cemetery in recognition for his 20 years of service in the United States Air Force. Rex was, without hyperbole, a true "Renaissance Man", Gentleman and Patriot. Educated at Purdue University, undergraduate, and Michigan State University, MBA, he spent his entire life travelling the U.S.A. and world first with his Air Force career and later with his wife and family. Maintaining relationships from kindergarten through his entire life, Rex was appreciated for his gentle nature, extensively well-read knowledge base and passions for wine, libations and gourmet food. A classical liberal, he understood the proper role of a citizen to volunteer his time as treasurer to the Church, civic organizations like the Lions Club and many other philanthropic interests. A bull work to his family, despite the challenges of age, he maintained his wry sense of humor and knowing smile days before his parting. He will be sorely missed and celebrated by family and friends -- rest in peace dear Husband, Father, Brother and Friend.
