I am deeply distressed by Geoff's sudden passing which only underscores how generous he was to everyone in freely sharing with each person his most valuable and limited asset, his time and patience. He always gave this away freely and without reservation, always trying to help you solve an issue or answer your questions (even if they didn't make much sense) because of your lack of familiarity with its technical context and subject matter. His patience and kindness with my ignorance and demands on his time were traits grounded in his generous, giving nature. I was enriched by knowing him and am equally diminished by his passing. I am grateful for the privilege of having known him and sharing his goodness and kindness. When I remember him, I smile with my heart and share his warm, good nature once again. After becoming friends with Geoff (or G as I called him sometimes) in the Army, our close knit group had all returned to the states. The five of us went to a concert (Maynard Ferguson Jazz of all things) at Disney, Orlando around 1993. After the concert, I said hello to a pretty lady and her boyfriend got all puffy at me. Before I knew it, this huge guy raised his fist backward. To my surprise, Geoff went under this guys arm and threw him to the ground and proceeded to put him in a choke hold, awaiting the police. I will never forget how his sacrifice for my safety was so automatic. I think this portrays Geoff's big heart and kindness he had for everyone. Although we let many years go by without staying in touch, Geoff will always remain in my heart and thoughts and I will miss not having the chance to see him again. - Jay Schwarb

My deepest condolences to the Kesler family. Jeff helped me many times with my iphones and various other devices and always could fix IT problems that had brought my legal practice to a halt. For that I am deeply appreciative. He will be greatly missed.

Over many years at Steptoe Geoff and I became friends as he often rescued me from one of another of my technology problems. Geoff always came with an upbeat and calming attitude. He treated the problem I saw as an opportunity for us both to master one or another of the intricacies of the IT world. I extend my deepest sympathy to his beloved family. We will all miss him very much.

I am very grateful to have known Geoff for a short period of time. Geoff started with Digital Realty this past year, and I was able to visit with him this past August during a visit to the offices where Geoff worked. Geoff was a great team member, and he certainly developed quite a reputation as someone who had a servant attitude, was super smart, and cared about the quality of work and the relationship between those he worked with. I wish we had more folks like Geoff in this world. He will be greatly missed, mostly because he was such a great guy and valued member of our team at Digital Realty. But I know that he was also a family man, and loved his wife and daughter. I pray that your family is comforted during this very difficult time, and that God showers you with love and blessings in the upcoming seasons of life.
