Matt was friends with my brother in junior high. I remember Matt'ss astonishing vitality and craziness. He would have fit in with Kerouac and crew. He thought my cocker poo Cindy was too cute to be real (she was) and so he exclaimed loudly in horror when he would see her. I am glad to see the appreciation here for such a special spirit. He was the only person I knew who lived in an apartment. Linden Hill was glamorous. Movie stars like Ginger Rogers would stay there when performing in local theatre. Anne

Teresa, my deepest sympathy is with you, and I sure do miss you and our fun times together in Tucson. I was so honored to be one of the groomsmen at your wedding and still treasure happy and loving memories from that day, December 6, 1997. As you remember, Matt was my AA sponsor, and he and you both helped me to become the person I am today. Yours and Matt's love continues to touch lives here in Tucson, because at the New Year's Alcothon, today and last night, many of yours and Matt's friends told me how much they love and have loved both of you. God bless you, Teresa, and your family and loved ones. I'm only a prayer away, and I feel the same way about our dear Matt: he's only a prayer away--until we all meet again. I love you!!

Teresa:
I have not met you but I was at the service last night. My heart goes out to you and your family.
I met Matt last year at the Club and he reached out to me. I always loved to hear what he had to share.
He had a loving and kind spirit.
The serice exemplified what an amazing man he was/is. It was the first funeral serivce I have been to since my father passed in 2008. And, I must say it was the most uplifting service I have ever attended.
I came away from there with a new understanding of death/life and living life to the fullest potential.
I think Matt did that.
I hope that I can acheive that in my life.

Dear Teresa-

I just found out this afternoon that Matt had passed away. I worked with him at Pathways for many years and always looked forward to seeing and working with him each day. He made a difference in the client's lives as well as mine. I am a better person for knowing him and will always remember him. I am sorry for your loss and the sadness you must be experiencing losing him. He was a great man and many many people have been positively influenced by his kindness.
