Sam the Man
What a dear, loving, wise and gentle man. He was like a second father to Mike and I.Always giving his love,friendship,moral and financial support to us.Never asking any questions but always there to offer advice when needed.Such a soft spoken southern gentleman with a sense of humor and love for his family,friends,horses and beloved dogs.I can't say enough about what a wonderful man he was but I know he is still looking after us from up above.
We miss your smiling face and gentle laugh Sam. We will always love you and miss you.

I knew Mr. Rogers best through my close friendship with his son during our tumultuous teenage years.
SHR, Jr: Kind, inquisitive (and therefore, at times, bemused), occasionally regal in his natty suits and yet, never aloof. A wise father, he knew our teenage egos, struggles, dramas with each other, with girls and all our tricks. He gave Sam and his friends enough rein to run. But, his knowing grip firm, never enough rein for us to run to ruin. (Today, I thank him for that.)
I suspect, somehow, he still has his eagle eye on those he loved.
