After 73 Years Brown Funeral Home In Lovettsville Will Close.
Thursday, December 1, 2011With great sorrow the McDonough family announces the December 31st 2011 closing of their Lovettsville, Virginia funeral home, Brown/Loudoun Funeral Chapel at 34 East Broad Way in Lovettsville (formerly Brown Funeral Home). The funeral home was built in Lovettsville during 1938 and operated by the Brown family until 1980 when it was sold to Loudoun Funeral Chapel. The business was purchased separate from the real estate as a satellite office to Leesburg, to hold viewings and funerals, with thoughts of one day building a new facility to serve the Lovettsville community. Our Lovettsville location has gone through many changes in 31 years including the sale of the building by the Brown family to a third party. The inability to control building expenses in recent years, a change of demographics, and a decrease in funerals held in Lovettsville makes it so we will close our Lovettsville location after the 31st of December. Area families have become accustomed to making funeral arrangements for services in Lovettsville at our Leesburg location followed by services at either the funeral home in Lovettsville or area churches and cemeteries. Our facility in Lovettsville has been honored to provide caring and professional service for the past 31 years and we will be honored to continue helping Lovettsville families during their time of loss with caring, dignified and personalized services that may be held at Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg, or any place of worship or cemetery. We thank the community for the many years of trusted service and stand ready in Leesburg to honor your loved ones wishes in the future. Read more
