John “Barney” Patrick Kelly, age 62, died peacefully of natural causes on April 8, 2016. He enjoyed a long and successful career in the IT industry. His passions included cooking, reading, golf, camping, and fly fishing in West V Read Obituary
My heartfelt condolences to your family on the passing of Barney. Although a couple years older than me, I still looked up to the fun loving, happy- go- lucky person that he was. From all of us in the KHS Class of 1973 our deepest sympathy.
Barney and I were in the great class of '71 together. He was a good friend then and anytime I ran into him afterwards. My late husband and Barney also shared a special friendship. They went to St Francis Catholic School together. Barney is gone too soon and will be missed. ♡
I was surprised and saddened to learn of Barney's passing. He loved his children and we spent a lot of weekends together at EPIC soccer games and Jefferson High soccer games watching Sean and Aaron (and my boys). I know he also made lots of trips to Charlottesville to visit Lauren. Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs!

Sal and I were so very, very saddened to hear the news about John.
Our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and to Kitty. He is gone way too soon.
For this tribute, I immediately thought of this photo of John. He was always willing to join me in loudly blowing the noisemakers on New Year's Eve (much to everyone else's dismay). John never faded into the background and had a great sense of humor; he was always fun to be around and lived large. We have many great memories that include John.

I have known Barney since we were about 13 years old. He was the cute kid from Catholic School. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. He will always have a special place in my heart. May the road rise up to meet you dear friend.
