John Patrick Kelly's Obituary
John “Barney” Patrick Kelly, age 62, died peacefully of natural causes on April 8, 2016.
He enjoyed a long and successful career in the IT industry. His passions included cooking, reading, golf, camping, and fly fishing in West Virginia and Montana.
He was born in Keyser, WV on July 16, 1953 to Lt. Col. Cyril Ambrose Kelly and Major Kathryn Cecelia Kelly née Quinn. He was a 1971 graduate of Keyser High School, where he played on the 1969-70 State Champion football team. In 1979, he earned his Bachelor's degree from Shepherd College in Computer Science.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Timothy Kelly. He is survived by: his sister, Patricia Kelly; three children, Lauren, Sean, and Aaron; two grandchildren, Quintin and Emma; and partner, Kathleen Saylor.
His remains will be scattered at his favorite places. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's name at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
