Mrs. Thornton was one of the most thoughtful, kind, and loving women that I have ever had the privilege of knowing. While I know she is now in eternal peace and rest with our God, whom she had so much love for, she will deeply be missed by all of those whose lives she touched. What a woman; what a family; and may her light now shine down upon all of us, giving us each a touch of that resilience that we all admired, respected, and loved. God bless the Thorntons and our latest and very special angel.
With sympathy and love,

Dear Bill & Family
We are deeply saddened to learn of Lorraine's death. We thank you, Bill, for your call. Unfortunately, we only received it minutes ago. Anita & I are currently at our son, Chris' apartment near Zurich and only thought to check our answering machine this morning.
Please know that we prayed for Lorraine in this life and that we will continue to pray for her in her next life. Those prayers also include you, Bill.
Again, our deepest condolences to you and your family.

Lorraine would not know me if she met me, but many years ago I was a Social
Work Intern at Vassar. I was having a
tough time with the program and she stepped in and took me under her wing and helped me gain the confidence that I needed to continue on. I will never forget her kindness toward me and her compassion toward all those she cared for. I know that she will be missed, I am so sorry for your loss.##imported-begin##Liz Kirby##imported-end##
Learned of Lorraine's death today, 9/29, via obit in Pok Journal. Terribly sorry for your loss and want Bill, Chuck and Bill Jr. to know how much we thought of Lorraine. We have missed her smiling face here on McAllister Drive; also fond memories of after-square dancing coffee @ Howard Johnson's and loads of laughs. Those were great times. Re and I were looking at films of Bill and Chuck in our back yare back in the 70's and having a laugh the evening before reading about Lorraine's passing. Is that a .coincidence? Who knows. She was an outstanding woman who we feel priviledged to have called ur friend. Hugs from us to you! Re and Sam.##imported-begin##Re & Sam Lawson##imported-end##
Dear Bill and family, It was with so much sadness that we heard the news. Lorraine was truly special and her special light will only be extinguished when we and our memories are gone - our time in IWAGY was the best when you two were in the group.
