Although I did not know his family, I do have found memories of working with him in the meat dept. at the old Purcellville Safeway in the 70's. I recall him being a hard worker and family man. Condolences to the family, may he rest in peace.
Gail i'm so sorry to hear of Rays passing. The class of 63 was blessed with many fine people and Ray certainly was one. He will be missed by all who knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this time of grief. My God grant you his peace and hold you in his arms.

Mr. Ray was the man! Over the past 14 years on Curry Springs Place we have grown to know Mr. Ray & Gail...we love and admire them so much. The nicest yard on the street. Was always a pleasure to see Ray outside w/ Gail meticulously taking care of their home and showcasing that solid husband/wife teamwork...which brought so much joy and motivation to others on the street. I enjoyed my time talking adhoc w/ Ray and seeing him tinker in the garage. We had so many nice chats and I enjoyed learning/asking questions about his meat-cutting days. Whether he knew it or not...he was a nice mentor to the younger dads on Curry Springs Place. I'm happy both my kids got to know Mr. Ray over the years as well...they know what a class act is was.
