Aaron Jemel Harris' Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Aaron Jemel Harris, aged 33, of Ashburn, VA, who passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
Born in Buffalo, NY, Aaron was the cherished son of Natalie Harris and the beloved bonus son of Albert Taylor, Jr. He is survived by his loving family – father figure, David 'Pops' Thomas (Lisa); father, Daryl Abrams (Yori); grandfather, Daniel Abrams; grandmother, Victoria Robinson; aunt, D’Aydra ‘Dee’ Allen (Idris); girlfriend, Nadia Sosa; siblings, Diane, Darryl, Toriano, and bonus brother Avery Taylor; his chosen family, Shawn Faizul, Rahiem Faizul, Malcolm Hamilton, Julia Hamilton, Trisha King, Darius ‘Tip’ King, Candice King, Felicia ‘Fefe’ Bridgett, James ‘Pookie’ Davis, Leonard ‘LJ’ Polk, Kristina Paulino, and Malachi; and his Bungalow Lakehouse family, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Nathaniel Armstrong, Jr. In addition to his grandfather he will reunite with many loved ones we know have all received him with a homecoming fit for a king.
Aaron was passionate about people and it showed through his many years of work in the hospitality industry. From serving, bartending, to curating new flavors, he loved what he did and built a following of loyal patrons who willingly supported him wherever he went on his journey. He wasn’t just about hospitality, however, he was a talented artist who produced beats, created beautiful visual art, and could step and dance so well that he spent years in high school and beyond teaching and coaching others about how to tap into their own self-expression and artistry.
Natalie, his mother, laid a foundation of love, compassion, and resilience for Aaron, which he built upon to create enduring relationships. His unforgettable smile and the true friendships he formed have left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Though his physical presence is missed, his legacy of love and light endures.
The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM and services will start at 12:00pm on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Loudoun Funeral Chapel. A repast is to follow starting at 3:00 PM at The Bungalow Lakehouse located at 46116 Lake Center Plaza, Sterling, VA 20165.
Aaron was a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan and if you would like to celebrate his life by wearing the team’s gear, colors, or accessories to his celebration – the more the merrier! Of course, you are more than welcome to come as you are, as Aaron would have had it no other way. The family’s only request is that you wear no other sports team’s apparel.
Flowers are encouraged and can be sent 48 hours in advance to the chapel in colors and arrangements that compliment Aaron’s favorite team. Beyond this final farewell, no matter what you do, please celebrate the life of Aaron by spreading love and light in your own way as you continue your life’s journey.
Please share condolences with the family at www.LoudounFuneralChapel.com.
