Albert Assad Nabti's Obituary
Albert Nabti passed away on June 3, 2022, at his home in Waterford, Virginia. He was 101.
Born in Lebanon he emigrated to the United States to marry, Helen Parrish whom he met during her Foreign Service posting in Beirut after the war, his wife of 55 years.
Albert brought to his marriage and subsequent life in the United States the traits of his generation ambition, hard work and self respect.He briefly worked as a butcher, then carpet salesman, before and most significantly spending his career in the give and take of realty brokerage becoming a realtor and builder in Virginia and an early member of the Million Dollar Sales Club in the 1960’s.
He was an engaging conversationalist and in his retirement a local bar aficionado having his name on a plaque in the bar at the Ice House Cafe in Herndon and his caricature on the wall at The Lakeside Inn in Reston. He was staunchly independent and lived his life the way he wanted.
Albert was the oldest living alumni of the International College Beirut attending their last reunion at the City Tavern Club in Georgetown February 2020 and attended the American University of Beirut.
He is survived by one daughter, Zana, her husband John Metelski and two grandsons, Peter (Amanda) and Alexander Metelski. Services and interment to be held privately. He was preceded in death by a month by his faithful companion, his cat, Kato.
