Albert Treadwell's Obituary
Albert Treadwell was born on August 23rd, 1931, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Albert Sr. and Harriett (Dolby) Treadwell. He attended Parker High School in Woodlawn, Alabama. Albert went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. In 1952, Albert then moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he met the love of his life, Mary Lee Morman. In April of 1953, Albert and Mary were united in holy matrimony and through this union they had four boys and one girl. As a devoted husband and a loving father, he was a role model, a mentor, and a great man. To their unions was born Joe Albert Jr., Kevin Lamar, Martin Twain, Tracy Lyn and Derrek Treadwell. Albert obtained gainful employment at General Motors Assembly Plant, but still found time to attend Universal Barber College where he pursued his goal of owning his own business. Albert earned his barbers license and later opened “Al’s Barber Shop” which culminated his dream of becoming an entrepreneur, with his business located on the east side of Detroit.
Albert Treadwell was called from labor to reward on December 12th, 2007 and leaves to share in precious memory of his loving wife of fifty-five years, Mary Lee Treadwell of Manassas, Va., and five children. Joe Albert Treadwell Jr. and his wife Deborah of Birmingham MI; Kevin Lamar and wife Kathy Treadwell of Leesburg, VA; Martin and wife Brenda Treadwell of Detroit MI; daughter Tracy Lynn Treadwell of Detroit, MI; Derrek and wife Gina Treadwell of Richmond, TX; one brother Robert Lane Treadwell of Detroit MI., two sisters: Nazaree McDaniels of Compton, CA; Rose Budd Jones of Los Angeles, CA; sixteen grandchildren; one great grandchild, plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends. Mr. Treadwell was predeceased by two sisters, Esther Meadows and Modean Jones. Funeral Services were held at The Worship Center Assembly of God Church, 1997 Gleedsville Road, Leesburg, Va., 20175 at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 15th, 2007.
