Thinking of y’all today…. I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to attend but my thoughts and prayers are with y’all🙏🙏Alex and I have been friends since the 7th grade…. I have so many memories of FUN times in Kershaw! I’m so glad we got to see each other at our 50th high school reunion! He will be missed!😢
Alex — check out all the good running routes in heaven. When we meet again we’ll go for a run. This time I won’t make fun of your speedos.
RIP my friend.

Alex was always a special person to me from the time I met him during his interview for an AOV special assistant position. He has always been poised, peaceful and the one to find middle ground in tough and crucial conversations. He was instrumental in my success and becoming an executive and I will always be grateful to him for that. May he rest in heavenly peace forever.
Sending heartfelt condolences to the McDowell family during this difficult time. Alex was my immediate supervisor at FAA for several years and I will miss him dearly.
My first encounter with Alex was almost a decade ago at an Aviation Safety Leadership Dashboard meeting when he shared his infamous fireball candy. Although I did not work for him back then, I sought to sit next to him in future meetings. His warm smile, humility, and kindness had a way of making me (and many others) feel welcome and appreciated. Over the last two years, I had the honor of working for Alex in AOV. What an exceptional leader and person--he impacted many. This world and our airspace system are better because of him. I'm praying for peace, faith, hope, and love for the family. May God grant you unshakeable peace and solace. --Cherise Ojo, FAA/AOV
