Alleen C. Ambers' Obituary
Mrs. Alleen C. Ambers, 78 of Leesburg, Virginia died on Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
Born Thursday, October 2, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Matthew G. Lucas and the late Louise E. Bryant.
Alleen was a life member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She served in many capacities including choir member, board member and a past President of the missionary committee. Employed as a housekeeper for many local families, foremost she was a loving mother and grandmother to her family.
She was the devoted wife of the late Jesse Preston Ambers, Sr. who preceded her in death in December of 2008.
She is survived by her sons, Jesse Preston Ambers, Jr. of Sterling, VA, Anthony J. Ambers of Richmond, VA, and Clifton F. Ambers of Winchester, VA.
She is also survived by a brother, Edward Cook, Jr. of Herndon, VA, sister, Eleanor Gibson of Hyattsville, MD, 8 grand children, 2 great grand children, and 1 great great grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Betty L. Furr, in March of 2009 and one grandchild, Vernetta L. Furr.
Friends may call on Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 7 to 9 pm at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Lincoln, VA.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at First Mount Olive Baptist Church located at 216 Loudoun Street, SW Leesburg, Virginia 20175 with the Pastor E. Gregory Claytor officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery, Lincoln, VA.
