Allyson Almeda Johnson's Obituary
Allyson Almeda Ferrell Johnson was born September 13, 1925, on a farm in Paeonian Springs, VA to Anna Belle and Towney Ferrell, the fourth of six children. The family later moved to Waterford where the family settled. Almeda attended the one room schoolhouse in Waterford and stepped in as a substitute teacher when needed. Almeda graduated from Douglas School and held several jobs throughout her lifetime. Housekeeper, Governess to the Kennedy/Shriver family for 3 years, Chauffer, and finally as a Home Healthcare Worker and as a volunteer for Loudoun Cares. Almeda was the lunch lady at Madison House for Meals on Wheels. She helped her neighbors with reading & writing their prescriptions. She said, “my legs don't work, but my mind is sharp, so I'll be a servant until I can’t.”
Almeda rededicated her life to Christ in the 70s and served faithfully under Elder Isham Williams of 2nd Mount Olive Baptist Church, Hamilton VA and Rev. Harold Brown at Guilford Baptist Church, Millwood, VA, and Mt. Mount Olive Baptist Church under Rev. Harold Stinger, Leesburg, VA where she continued to serve as a deaconess and Mother of the Church.
Almeda leaves to mourn her passing her nieces and nephews Armecia Bolden of Georgia, Teresa Howard of Sterling, VA, Nardeka Reid of Ashburn VA, Lynn Mallory, Leesburg, VA Towney Townsed (Estella) of Leesburg, VA, Sharon Ferrell of Sterling, VA, Yvette Holland of
Maryland, Michael Ferrell (Izetta) of Silver Springs, MD, Anthony Ferrell (Debra) of Fayetteville, NC and Bruce Williams (Lenora) of Montclair, NJ, and a host of great nieces and nephews great - great nieces and nephews and SIL Kate Ferrell.
Almeda, affectionately called "Almo" by her nieces and nephews or "Aunt Tater" or Tates by her great-nieces and nephews said her favorite nickname was Child of God is at peace bowing at the feet of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Almeda is proceeded in death by her parents, siblings Louise F Mallory, Audrey V Warren, Anna M Walker, Towney Ferrell Jr, and Kenneth Ferrell.
The family thanks everyone for the cards, calls, flowers, singing and especially the visits. I personally want to thank At Home Healthcare, especially Christiana Johnson who treated Almo like her grandma and stayed with her to the end of her life. I could not have done it without you. I also give thanks to Capital Care Hospice nurses Neilia and Jane.
Jeremiah 33:6 Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security. Although we are aware that complete healing may not occur in this lifetime, we also know that God has a plan and a purpose for our lives.
