Ana Maria Thevenet's Obituary
ANA MARIA THEVENET, 98 of Ashburn, Virginia died on Friday, April 28, 2023, in Leesburg, Virginia.
Born Monday, July 14,1924 in Paysandu, Uruguay to the late Arturo Jose Canziani Merello and the late Angela Vanolini Garaventa. She was married for 62 years to the late Jorge Alberto Thevenet.
Ana Maria is survived by her daughter in law, Elizabeth Thevenet and numerous nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Jorge Arturo Thevenet.
She earned her Doctorate in Dentistry from the University of the Republic in Montevideo and ran her own practice for many years. In 1965, she and her family moved to the United States where her husband was assigned to the OAS Office of Public Information, and later joined the diplomatic corps as an OAS Ambassador. After retirement, she took up painting and was a skilled artist. She loved to travel, and was also an avid sports fan. Her favorites were professional tennis and international soccer. Most of all, she loved spending time with friends and family.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 8 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church located at 46833 Harry Byrd Hwy, Sterling, Virginia 20164.
