Andy Jackson's Obituary
Marcus Andrew “Andy” Jackson was born on January 15, 1997 in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia and had just celebrated his 24th birthday at the time of his passing on January 19, 2021. Andy is survived by his mother Jennifer Jackson, grandmother Catherine Tilton, and four siblings – Jason, Julian, Ariana, and Alexandra. In 2015, Andy graduated from John Champe High School in Aldie, Virginia.
Andy was best known for his big smile, infectious laugh, witty sense of humor, and gentle soul. Andy spent three summers as a teenager working at an orphanage in Malawi, earning and saving up all year to afford his travel there.
Andy loved music festivals, travel, anything outdoors, his dog Ori, and spending time with his friends and family. Andy was not a conformist; he was making his own way in life. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and had recently formed his own construction company with his best friend, Nick Davis.
If you ever needed a helping hand, Andy was there. He loved his family and was the best son, grandson, big brother, and friend that anyone could have imagined. He loved big. He lived big. We are all better for having him in our lives, even for this short time. The hole his passing leaves in our hearts is both unimaginable and immeasurable.
Services for Andy will be held at Potomac Baptist Church in Sterling, Virginia on Saturday January 23rd with visitation and viewing from 10:30-11am and services from 11am-12pm.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to a memorial fund to benefit the orphanage Andy helped build.
