Ann (Anna) T. Casper's Obituary
ANN T. CASPER, 93 of Ashburn, Virginia passed on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
Born Tuesday, December 11, 1928 in the Bronx, New York City, NY, she was the daughter of the late ALFRED TURMAN and the late ELIZABETH WESTERGAN TURMAN.
She moved from NYC to Stamford, CT when her daughter was 5 and remained there until moving to Albuquerque, NM in 1985. In July 2021 she moved to Ashburn, VA to be near her daughter.
Ann worked in the gift wrap department of Bloomingdales in NYC before moving to CT. She worked many other retail positions and volunteered with many organizations, including Hadassah, where she was a lifetime member, Temple Sinai in Stamford, CT, where she served as President of Sisterhood, Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM, the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque, NM and the Albuquerque Jewish Community Center. She was also a Girl Scout Troop leader in Stamford, CT.
Ann received an Associate of Art degree in Advertising Art from the University of Bridgeport, CT. She loved the theater and enjoyed going to many Broadway and touring theater productions. She also loved music and studied opera. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Ann traveled often because of her love of art and culture and especially loved visiting Ireland and Italy. In addition, Ann also loved dogs and raised several during her time in Albuquerque.
She leaves her family to cherish her memory including daughter, Suzanne Leigh and son in law Brian Connell of Sterling, VA; grandsons, Dylan Patrick and Michael Jeremiah Connell. She is also survived by her nieces Barbara Oakes, Nancy Mastriano and Laura Tarnowski, all of New Jersey.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Loudoun Funeral Chapel located at 158 Catoctin Circle, SE Leesburg, Virginia 20175. The family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service at 10 am.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
