Ann Jeanette Petty's Obituary
Ann Jeanette Petty passed away at 84, in Virginia, at Loudoun Hospital Hospital Center with friends & family at her side and having recently visited. Ann was an incredible mom to five children: Sherri, Jan, Lisa, Paul & Jeff and a grandmom to 8 grandchildren: Samantha, Andrew, Victoria, Olivia, Eliot, Katie, Natalie & Griffin. Ann's husband Paul of 47 years passed away in 2016. She was the daughter of the late James Griffin and the late Ann Griffin.
Ann was raised near Philadelphia, PA with her siblings. Ann worked at General Electric where she met Paul, also in Pennsylvania. They later moved to Ridgefield, CT, Fairfax Station, VA, and retired to Front Royal, VA; and moved to The Villages, FL shortly after their son Paul was married. Ann moved back to Virginia in 2021 to be closer to family.
Ann was active in churches everywhere she lived as an adult, as a deacon and as an accomplished decorator. She also enjoyed making and contributing to flower arrangements. Ann's unwavering energy to help people was unequaled. She volunteered for Toys for Tots. She enjoyed sponsoring several people & endeavored to help people of all ages with some of life's biggest struggles. She was an "always on" friend, advocate & listener. She was also a devoted caretaker for anyone who was injured or ill ... friend or family.
She also had a stubborn streak & was very head strong. And occasionally, in a good natured fun way, cheated at Monopoly while competing against her grandkids. She also enjoyed golfing & using her golf cart to shop while in The Villages. Her smile was easily recognized as that was her most common facial expression.
She will be missed.
