Ann Margaret Robinson's Obituary
On July 27, 2008, Ann Margaret Robinson died peacefully surrounded by her family at her home in Leesburg, Virginia. She was the beloved wife of Charles Clark Robinson for 66 years.
Born on May 16, 1916 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Carl Johann Vilhelm Grimmelmann originally of Kbhvn, Denmark and Dorothy Ann Weigel Grimmelmann of Baltimore, Maryland.
Ann graduated from New York University in 1937 and worked as the Executive Secretary for the President of New York University until her marriage in 1942. After World War II, she accompanied her husband on his many domestic and foreign military assignments before settling in the Washington area in 1962.
In addition to her loving husband, Ann is survived by her four daughters: Ann Frances and son-in-law Calvin Dodd of Wilmington NC; Jean Virginia and son-in-law Donald Corliss of Saranac Lake, NY, and Patricia “Scottie” Robinson and Elizabeth Ann Robinson of Purcellville, VA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Robert and Ann Margaret Dodd, Todd and Devin Corliss, and her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kailee, Ethan, Anna and Elyse. In addition, she leaves behind her brothers Karl Grimmelmann and his wife Jean, and Ihler Grimmelmann and his wife Frances.
She is preceded in death by her grandson, Brian Dodd, sister Dorothy Centrello and brother-in-law Vincent Centrello.
The family will receive friends and family from 2:00 PM, August 2, 2008 until the time of memorial service at 3:30 PM at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, Leesburg Virginia. A reception will follow at the family home in Leesburg.
Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on August 22, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Those that wish to attend should arrive at the administration building by 9:30 am.
