Anthony DiGiovanna's Obituary
Anthony “Tony” Matthew DiGiovanna 49, of Ashburn, VA died in a boating accident Sunday, November 27, 2011. Tony was born July 2, 1962 in Queens, NY to Marie Josephine Glazou DiGiovanna and the late Matthew DiGiovanna. Raised in Paramus, New Jersey, Tony was a 1984 graduate of Embry Riddle University in Daytona Beach, FL. He moved to the DC area in 1989 when he was first employed with United Airlines. There, he enjoyed a 22 year career as a pilot. Tony was a dedicated husband; father, brother, son, uncle, friend and coach. He was affectionately known as “Good Time Tony.”
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Deanna DiGiovanna; four children: Jessica, Matthew, Luke and Michael; his mother: Marie DiGiovanna of Ashburn, VA; brother: Christian DiGiovanna of Malaysia and a host of relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE in Leesburg on Thursday, December 1st 2011 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 21371 St. Theresa Lane, Ashburn, VA on Friday, December 2nd at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Leesburg, VA.
