Anthony E. Grimaldi's Obituary
Of Leesburg, VA passed away January 14th, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born in Punxsutawney, PA to Marion Francis and Mary Galeazzo Grimaldi on August 25 1930. He is mourned by family members and many friends, including his brothers Dr. John J. Grimaldi of Erie, PA and David F. Grimaldi, Esq. of Washington, DC.
He was the devoted husband of Marlene Evans Grimaldi for 56 years and the beloved father of Stephen Grimaldi (Becky), Lisa Boyle (Ray), Shelley Mattice (Doug), Alexa Browe, and Evan Grimaldi (Melek). He was also the very proud grandfather of Laura Busbee, Stephen Grimaldi, Catherine Grimaldi, Matthew Boyle, Caitlin Barnes, Kevin Boyle, Anthony Mattice, Emily Mattice, Sydney Browe, and great-granddaughter Felicity Busbee.
Mr. Grimaldi graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1952, served active duty in the US Army during the Korean War, and graduated from Georgetown Law School in 1957. He began his legal career with the DC Transit Company and was on their staff counsel for a number of years. He then joined the firm of O’Brien and Clague in Washington, DC. After moving to Virginia, he became a partner in the law firm of Doherty, Sheridan and Grimaldi in Fairfax. He later practiced law with William Virgulak and Dana Scott in Fairfax and Leesburg, VA and was also co-founder and President of Attorneys Arbitration and Mediation, Inc. Before retiring in January of 2013, he was Of Counsel for the law firm of Brault, Palmer, Steinhilber & Robbins. He was a member of St. John The Apostle Catholic Church in Leesburg, VA and served as an usher there for a number of years.
A visitation will be held on Monday evening, January 20th from 7:00-9:00 PM at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel in Leesburg, VA with a prayer service being held at 8:00 PM. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. John’s on Tuesday, January 21st at 10 AM. A private burial is planned.
