Arnold Alva Knowles' Obituary
ARNOLD ALVA KNOWLES, 90 of Burke, Virginia passed on Saturday, December 3, 2022, in Falls Church, Virginia.
Born Monday, October 10, 1932. Arnold was the son of the late Wilson Eldridge Knowles and the late Illian (Boyd) Knowles. He grew up in Meadows of Dan, VA as the 8th of 10 children. Arnold joined the US Air Force after high school where he served for 4 years including over 1 year at overseas duty stations. He learned aircraft mechanics and used those skills in a long career in private industry. After retirement, Arnold enjoyed playing golf and assisting at local golf courses in Loudoun County.
Arnold is survived by his son, Brian Knowles, daughter-in-law Mary Knowles, brother Euron “Pete” Knowles, and two grandchildren, Grace, and Carson Knowles.
He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, June (Compher) Knowles, 5 brothers - Virgil, Clyde, Hassell, James, and Kennard Knowles, and 3 sisters - Cassie McPeak, Eula “Judy” Ray, and Glennie Reynolds.
Arnold was laid to rest in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
