Obituary for Arpad L. Megyer
On Friday, September 21, Arpad Megyer died at Capital Hospice in Arlington, Virginia from glioblastoma (brain cancer). Mr. Megyer was born in Hungary in 1969 and immigrated to California in1987. He became a citizen of The United States in 2005. A machinist and inventor by trade, he pursued flight training in San Diego where he became a flight instructor. Mr. Megyer was a talented engineer, designer, composer and commercial airline pilot. He held positions with Independence Air, United Express, and Wright Manufacturing. He was a member of Christ the Redeemer Parish in Sterling, VA.
Mr. Meyger is survived by his loving wife of 6 years, Juliana, and by his mother, Erzsebet, and sister, Marta Megyer. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, September 28 at 5:00 pm at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 46833 Harry Byrd Highway (Rt. 7), Sterling, VA. In lieu for flowers, donations are being accepted for Br. Augustine Momah’s mission work in Nigeria, Africa.
