Arthur Boyd Davis Jr.'s Obituary
ARTHUR BOYD DAVIS, Jr., age 74 of Ashburn, Virginia and formerly of Roanoke, Virginia, was granted access to the glorious gates of Heaven, on Thursday, July 11, 2024, in Leesburg, Virginia. A graduate of Patrick Henry High School, Roanoke College, and William and Mary, Arthur was a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior and was devoted to his family.
Born Wednesday, March 1, 1950, in Roanoke, Virginia, he was the son of the late Arthur Boyd Davis, Sr., and the late Nellie Shumate Davis.
Arthur is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 49 years, Judy Lynn Keith Davis; sons, Matthew (Debbie), Nathaniel (Angela) and Mark (Cassie); daughters, Christin Luoma (Jim) and Caitlin; sister, Martha Davis Shifflett (Ray), 9 treasured grandchildren, (Michael (Brandi), Cali, Domanick, Devin, Bella, Abby, Jadon, Kai, and Colette) as well as over a dozen cousins, numerous friends, and fellow followers of God.
Arthur had a calling to follow God and spread the good news, and he did exactly that in every aspect of his life. Arthur lived his life to bring others to Christ, leading by example and always showing love, understanding, and forgiveness. An avid reader with a thirst for knowledge, he spoke many languages, and always challenged himself to learn and educate himself. Arthur spent his professional career, primarily as a software engineer. As a lover of language, computer languages came naturally to him and he was able to have a long and successful career doing something he enjoyed. After Arthur’s retirement, he was able to continue his work for the Lord and helped establish the Church of the Ascension along with Judy, and many other amazing people of God. His love of music and God given talent allowed him to lead praise and worship and glorify the Lord with beautiful music. The recordings of this music will continue to spread the word of the Lord for years to come. Praise be to God!
A service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday July 27, 2024, at Church of the Ascension located at 70 Oakland Ter. Charles Town, West Virginia 25414
