Audrey Ann Belyea's Obituary
AUDREY ANN BELYEA, 62 of Ashburn, Virginia passed on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at home.
Audrey was born on Wednesday, December 2, 1959, in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Franklin Lewis Roberts and the late Dorine Dodge Roberts.
Audrey grew up in Old Town, Maine, where she met her childhood sweetheart and future husband David A. Belyea. She graduated from North Carolina State University in Raleigh in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. She obtained her Medical Technologist Certification at Rex Hospital School of Medical Technology. She then obtained a Master of Business Administration from University of Southern Maine in 2001. Audrey worked as a Microbiologist and did so most recently at Quest Diagnostics in Chantilly, Virginia for the past 18 years.
Audrey was a loving wife and mother, and dedicated to her family. She raised two children as a military spouse. Her love of adventure and travel took her all over the world. She enjoyed the outdoors and had a love for hiking, biking and sailing.
Audrey was an avid runner. She was a member of the Old Town High School cross country and track teams and raced competitively at the college level at NC State University. She completed a total of 10 marathons races during her lifetime. She was also an avid swimmer and competed in open water swim races. She enjoyed her swim friends at Claude Moore Recreational Center in Ashburn, VA.
She attended Our Savior's Way Lutheran Church. She was a devote Christian and servant to God. She enjoyed the fellowship of friends through her Bible Study groups.
She was thoughtful and caring woman and will be dearly missed.
Audrey is survived by her husband David Anthony Belyea of Ashburn, VA; son, Christopher Michael Belyea (Loni) of Southern Pines, NC; daughter, Courtney Ann Belyea of Kearneysville, WV; grandson, Michael Alexander Belyea; sisters, Julie (Richard), Kathleen (Bruce), Laurie (Doug) and Jennifer (Scott); stepmother, Betsy Roberts; and mother-in-law, Helen Blumenstock.
The Belyea family will receive friends and family on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cir. SE Leesburg, VA 20175.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Our Savior’s Way Lutheran Church located at 43115 Waxpool Rd. Broadlands, VA, 20148. Pastor Tyson Labuhn will officiate. A reception will immediately follow the funeral service at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cir. SE Leesburg, VA 20175. The committal will be conducted at a later date to be determined at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
