Aurora V. Comsti's Obituary
Aurora “Auring” Veloso Comsti, 86, of Alexandria, VA, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at home with her family.
She was born on August 2, 1928 in Manila, Philippines to Jacinto Veloso and Felicisima Castillo. Aurora was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three of her sisters.
She is survived by her sister, Mila Snider; her children, Malou Comsti Baum and Marissa “Chi Chi” Comsti; grandchildren, Willy Baum, Kathryn Baum, Sara Roer, and Patrick Tanyag.
Aurora was cheerful and giving. She was always ready with a smile and free with her laughter as she looked after her family and friends. She was known for her love of her family, travel, work, and filipino television. She worked at the United States Embassy in the Philippines for 36 years and at the National Education Association for 18 years. She was the administrative secretary for the Ambassadors of Mary and a volunteer with Our Lady’s Rosary makers in Annandale, VA. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
A funeral service was held at Noon on December 31, 2014 at Saint Michael’s Church of Fairfax County, 7401 St. Michael Lane, Annandale, VA 22003. Light luncheon followed the mass at the Saint Michael’s all-purpose room. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Philippines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ABS-CBN Foundation International at www.abscbnfoundation.org; an organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged Filipino families.
