Badie Zarou's Obituary
Badie R. Zarou, 89, of Leesburg, Virginia since 1981, died on Tuesday July 8, 2008 at his home with his family by his side. Mr. Zarou was born June 3, 1919 in Ramallah, Palestine to the late Rashid and Naifeh Abdelnour Zarou. His wife Evelyn, a brother Fuad Zarou and two sisters Nijma Zarou and Ruwaida Habeeb also predeceased him. He came to the United States in 1951 and settled in Long Island, NY. Mr. Zarou was a blacksmith by trade in Palestine and worked in the steel industry for a few years for others before he was able to purchase an existing grocery store in Uniondale, Long Island. Mr. Zarou grew his grocery/ delicatessen business by six locations before retiring and moving to Leesburg with his family.
Mr. Zarou is survived by his three sons: Mike and Lillian Zarou, Jeff and Denise Zarou, and George Zarou all of Leesburg; three brothers and families: Mirshid Zarou of Fairfax, VA, Ibrahim Zarou of Fairfax, VA, Ramzi Zarou of Leesburg; two sisters and families: Badea Harb of Leesburg, VA, Naiemeh Habib of Herndon, VA and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE Leesburg, VA Thursday July 10, 2008 from 5-8pm. A funeral mass will be held at 1:00pm on Friday July 11, 2008 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church 101 Oak Crest Manor Drive, Leesburg, Virginia. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Leesburg.
