Barbara Ann Barr's Obituary
Mrs. Barbara Ann Barr, 77 of Taylorstown, Virginia passed on Sunday, December 6, 2015.
Barbara was born Saturday, May 7, 1938 in Loudoun County, Virginia. She was a daughter of the late Outterbridge Frye Wilt and Lillian Nora Stream. Predeceased by her husband Odell James Barr in 1989.
She worked as a legal secretary at the law office of R C Riemenschneider, and then with the County of Loudoun and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Barbara was a devoted and active member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Taylorstown. She loved sports as a spectator and every opportunity she had to support the church team or a team of her family, close friends and even professional teams, she did with great enthusiasm.
She leaves her family to cherish her memory including her four children, William Allen, his wife Rochelle (Shelly) Coates, Jr. of Lovettsville, VA, daughter, Carolyn Marcus of Baker, WV, Randolph Allen, his wife Dorothy (Dottie) Coates and Kevin Odell Barr of Bluemont, VA. Deborah Goold Barr of Round Hill, VA; four step-children Sheila Chaconas, Washington, DC, Bruce Barr, West Virginia, Steve Barr (deceased) and Doug Barr (deceased); nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her four siblings, Dolores Green, Frederick, MD, Phyllis Spinks of Taylorstown, VA, Johnny Wilt of Taylorstown, VA, and Sharon Dennis of Strasburg, VA; and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 13266 Taylorstown Rd Leesburg, VA 20176.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the church.
Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery, Taylorstown, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church 13266 Taylorstown Rd. Leesburg, VA 20176.
