Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Beloved Friend
Barbara J. Blair, 72, of Leesburg, VA passed away peacefully at her home in Leesburg on the 8th day of May 2013, surrounded by her family and friends. She lived a full life, which continued through her two year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born on October 25, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY, to Rita Marie Mallor and John Joseph Maley.
Brooklyn is where she met the love of her life, Bill Blair. They lived in Brooklyn, NY until moving to Virginia in 1972 where they remained.
Barbara was most proud of their children, whom she and her husband loved spending time with. She enjoyed her work as an Administrative Manager for the County of Loudoun for 25 years. She retired in 2002 to spend time with Bill, their children and grandchildren. Barbara loved music and the movies.
She leaves behind a loving family Bill, her husband of 53 years, their children Bill Blair, Bob and Mary Jo Blair, Rita and Larry Moon, as well as grandchildren Meredith, Erica and Will Blair. She also leaves behind a close family member, Lizzie Reed and best friend Cindy Welsh, as well as many other loving friends and family.
Her parents and brother, Jack Maley preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held at Loudoun Funeral Chapel on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 1:00pm.
Interment will be held in Leesburg Union Cemetery.
