Barbara H Bridenbaugh's Obituary
Barbara Bridenbaugh passed away peacefully at the age of 93 at Inova Loudoun Hospital on July 30, 2025, surrounded by her family. After falling and breaking her hip on July 23, she experienced several major strokes and never regained consciousness.
Barbara was one of Falcons Landing’s first residents when she moved to 46884 Grissom Street on September 9, 1996. (Terrace Home 2 currently occupies that location.) She later lived in an apartment on the fourth floor of Building 1 and had recently moved to West Falls. Including growing up and college, she had moved 24 times before coming to Falcons Landing, 20 of them as an Army wife. She loved living at The Landing and took great joy from the many friendships she made there.
Among the numerous Falcons Landing activities she participated in were the Resident Activities Committee (for many years as Chairperson), Knit Wits (co-founder and Chairperson), Chinese Class (co-founder), First Falcon’s Landing Investment Club (co-founder), and Meals on Wheels.
Barbara will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery with her first husband, LTC (ret.) Roger H. Coye, who fathered her children and died in 1966 from wounds received in Vietnam. The service will be private.
Donations in her memory to the Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad are welcome. https://sterlingrescue.org/donate/
