BARBARA D. WYMAN's Obituary
Barbara Davis Wyman, 92, died January 5 at her home in Leesburg, VA following a brief and sudden illness. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mrs. Wyman graduated from George Washington University after attending Carleton College and the University of Wisconsin. Mrs. Wyman first came to call Northern Virginia and the DC area home in 1951. It was there where she started her family, to whom she remained devoted throughout her long life.
Barbara Wyman valued service and community, whether as a Girl Scout leader and troop organizer for 20 years or as a founding member and past president of the Camelot Garden Club. She loved teaching children, and would often work as a substitute teacher for local elementary schools. When not engaged in the community or with her family, Mrs. Wyman enjoyed crafts, particularly needlework, sewing, painting, and gardening. She delighted in family beach weeks, camping, and traveling the world.
Her beloved husband of 53 years, John H. Wyman, died in 2004.
Their son, John D. Wyman, died in 2002.
She is survived by her daughters Martha L. Wyman of Chester Springs, PA, Mary J. Wyman, COL(Ret.), M.D., and Susan (Doug)W. Reece both of Leesburg, VA; her daughter-in-law Robin W. Berzowski, and her five grandchildren: Julie, Andrew, Daniel, Madeline, and Meredith.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Little River United Church of Christ in Annandale, VA
