Barbara J. Beck's Obituary
BARBARA J. BECK, 50, of Ashburn, Virginia passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Beck was born January 1st 1961 in Bainbridge, MD. She moved to Georgetown in 1989 while working with National Geographic. After over 20 years with National Geographic she worked with the Loudoun Times Mirror a few years and also was the marketing director for Wild Bird Centers of America in Glenn Echo, MD. Mrs. Beck loved fashion and had a gift for interior design. She will be remembered for her wonderful way of listening and as an inspiration to many.
Mrs. Beck is survived by her beloved husband: Michael J. Beck of Ashburn; two sons: Tyler and Dylan Beck of Ashburn; her mother: Mrs. Emily Porach Eppler of Yorktown Heights, NY; a sister: Patricia Neumann of Yorktown Heights, a brother: Brian Eppler of Rotterdam, NY; a godson: Brian Neumann of Yorktown Heights and a host of other relatives and friends. Her father Leonard G. Eppler predeceased her in 2000.
Friends may call at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE in Leesburg on Wednesday, March 16th 2011 from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am on Thursday, March 17th at St. Theresa Catholic Church, St. Theresa Lane in Ashburn, VA with Father Richard Guest officiating. Interment will be private at a later date.
