Barbara Lucille Lawson's Obituary
Mrs. Barbara Lucille Lawson, 76, of Lucketts, VA, died Monday, November 9, 2009, at INOVA Loudoun Hospital Center in Lansdowne, VA.
Born on April 9, 1933, one of eleven children, Barbara was the daughter of the late Noah Edwards Garfield Aker and the late Lila M. Porter Aker.
Mrs. Lawson moved to Loudoun in the early 1950s and made Lucketts home.
She assisted her late husband Harry West “Buck” Lawson in the family well drilling business.
She was an active member of the Faith Chapel Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Curtis Lawson, Manassas, VA; and her daughter,
Kimberly Jean Graham, of Leesburg, VA; six siblings, Sam Aker, Alexandria, VA, Alice Gravley, Wytheville, VA, Margaret "Tiny" Harmon, Wytheville, VA, Nell Nuckolls of NC, Terry Aker and Jules Aker, both Wytheville, VA.
Her only grandson, Nicholas W. Graham, plus numerous other nieces, nephews, cousin’s family and friends also survive her.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by four siblings, Everett Aker, Rachael Manley, Jean Dove, and Mildred Aker.
Arrangements are being handled by Loudoun Funeral Chapels, 158 Catoctin Cr. SE, Leesburg, VA; where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Thursday, November 12, 2009. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 13, 2009, Rev. Robert Glascock officiating.
Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Leesburg, VA.
